Forces for Food Systems Transformation-Finance

The Finance Lever of the UN Food Systems Summit aims to turn finance from a constraint into an enabler of food systems transformation.  All too often, finance is identified as one of the main impediments for food systems transformation, but by mobilizing innovative and scalable sources of public, private and blended finance, including de-risking high impact projects, finance can unlock the implementation of the various action tracks of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. The goals of this session are to explore innovative approaches to financing food system transformation as well as learning about best practices and initiatives that are already happening on the ground. The session offers strategic input as the finance lever is developed.

As part of this session, you will have the opportunity to join one of the break-out rooms listed below. In each break-out room, you will be joined by a discussion leader from either private sector or civil society and you will have the chance to listen to a pitch from a selected game-changing initiative followed by a discussion.

·  Room 1 : Ensuring Access to safe & Nutritious food for all
·  Room 2 : Shifting to sustainable consumption patterns
·  Room 3 : Boosting nature-positive production at sufficient scale
·  Room 4 : Advancing equitable livelihoods and value distribution
·  Room 5 : Building Resilience to vulnerabilities, shocks and stresses​
